A touching and happy story at the announcement of the PG Bison 1.618 competition.
On Thursday 6th October, the PG Bison 1.618 Awards were held at The Good Luck Bar, in downtown Johannesburg. The theme of the evening was The Charmed Society of Stylish Persons and guests turned out in their finery to support the finalists who had been audaciously styled to suit the event.
Masasa Mbangeni played the extravagant host to perfection. The ceremony allowed all finalists to reveal a little of their personalities. The thank you speech by Karen Boshoff was especially touching when she explained how her hard work and persistence had finally paid off after many setbacks and rejections.
The 2016 brief tasked students with creating a space for a collective put together to work on a massive international sporting event which would be hosted in Port Elizabeth. Cape Recife Lighthouse on the Southern tip of Algoa Bay, located within the bounds of the Cape Recife Nature Reserve, was chosen to house the collective. This space was chosen to encourage faster creativity, design and interaction and maximum productivity.
All finalists’ work was displayed on custom displays to showcase their artwork.
